training:
School of the new york times

Summer 2022

In mid-June, I attended The School of The New York Times for the Diverse Voices in Reporting course, taught by award-winning author Zaina Arafat. Over the course of the two weeks, we visited Bay Ridge, Jackson Heights, and the Lower East Side, reporting and interviewing small businesses and residents in those areas to create personality profiles, human interest features, and multimedia reporting for in-depth storytelling.

Reflecting

At the end of the two-week session, we had to create a presentation to the class regarding our experience in this course. This presentation could be in any form: reading of a proud piece, reflections on what one learned, or simply going through images taken during the week. I presented the slideshow below. It's a mix of humor, love, and writing.
