Marketing:
The diversity story

The Diversity Story is a digital magazine that celebrates individual identities, with a focus on multi-cultures. As Marketing Director, I helped launch and establish this magazine. I create social media schedules, oversee social media content, and have recruited twelve members globally. I lead weekly staff writer meetings, collaborate with the directors to create posting schedules, execute website design, and organize editing cycles. I took the initiative to lead projects such as writing workshops and international writing competitions, through which we garnered 80+ submissions. I also write articles about my cultural identity and share them with a global audience.

developing theme

When I started working with the magazine's Executive Director, something we both agreed on and wanted to capitalize on was the color theme that branded The Diversity Story. It consisted of a dark blue, light blue, and coral pink. Using these colors, we created a checkered pattern through our feed using dark and light blues. Coral pink was saved as an engagement strategy for posts that were especially important, such as writing competition announcements or other big event information.

Snippets: educating & engaging

Nowadays, if something isn't quick, short, and attention-grabbing, people won't read it. So, we created "Snippets." Just like the name suggests, it's something quick, however still educational. With the goal of educating and engaging our readers, I created a colorful template formatted for succinct phrasing.

a bit of everything

I quickly found that the beauty of The Diversity Story is the creative realm offered by being a fully virtual platform. This led to the creation of culturally themed playlists, our own cookbooks, gallery uploads, and much more.
